Dr. Nathan Lee

Oral Medicine & Pathology

Dr. Nathan Lee is a dual certified specialist in both Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology as well as a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Moreover, he holds appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry and staff specialist with Vancouver Coastal Health. He practices the full scope of oral medicine and pathology, including diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, oral manifestations of systemic conditions, and oromaxillofacial pathology. Dr. Lee is proud to offer his services to Vancouver Island on a full-time basis.

He was born and raised in Richmond, BC and attended the University of British Columbia Vancouver, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Honours Biophysics with Distinction, Co-Op and a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Once graduated, Dr. Lee was accepted into the 4-year dual Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Residency jointly held at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver General Hospital, and the British Columbia Cancer Agency. He is the recipient of several Canadian Institute of Health Research Awards, the Carlos Carrillo Community Service Award, and the winner of the Canadian Dental Association/Dentsply-Sirona Student Clinician Research Program.

As part of his residency, Dr. Lee rotated through internal medicine, dermatology, rheumatology, oral oncology, radiation oncology, bone marrow transplant medicine, head and neck pathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, lymphoma pathology, dermatopathology, and anatomic pathology. He served as chief resident as well as authored multiple webpages, presented at several international conferences, and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. When not in the clinic or laboratory, one can find him running, hiking, and playing soccer.
